Every typist needs a script or italic typeface typewriter. There is an elegance in the flowing type styles.

EXTERIOR & CASE:  The original hard-sided case is included and is solid and sturdy however, the handle is missing on the case. The typewriter's exterior looks very good. A few slight imperfections that are barely detectible.

PERFORMANCE:  Huge fan here of the 5TE! This particular model types very well; no issues detected. It is a single color typewriter and we've loaded it with new black ribbon. Suitable for active use. With a script typeface, I recommend it for letters, poetry, or other short prose rather than long projects. Even though the font is gorgeous, it can weary the eys on longer works. This is designed for correspondence.

OPTIONAL 6-MO WARRANTY

With the warranty option, we will cover any mechanical issues NOT mentioned in the listing or demo video that result from regular daily use for 6 months, starting from the day our tracking information shows that the typewriter was delivered. We recommend taking out your typewriter immediately and testing it for any issues.

This warranty covers any MECHANICAL/OPERATIONAL issues that occur in the course of normal use. Examples: keys sticking/not operational, carriage no longer working due to a broken drawband or other issue, a space bar stops working, the paper feed rollers no longer pull in the paper, etc. It also covers motor failure on electric typewriters. These are some examples of common issues with typewriters and not an exhaustive list of coverage.

 This warranty does NOT cover damage from misuse, food or drink spills, being dropped, or other accidental damage. Damage such as bent or broken parts is not covered (unless it is as a result of shipping). It also does not cover water damage or any incidents arising from an accident or improper use. Paint or exterior damage is not covered either.

 IMPORTANT! Do NOT attempt to repair the typewriter yourself. Any effort at repair on your part VOIDS THIS WARRANTY! This includes opening the bottom or side panels or accessing the mechanics and making adjustments. Please contact us first, and Rob will guide you as to what to do.

We will always attempt to address issues over the phone or email first. After that, if the problem has not been resolved, we'll give you instructions for returning the typewriter for repair. If there are damages as a direct result of shipping, please notify us immediately.

Jot & Tittle Vintage Typewriters will cover the cost of repairs and return shipping TO YOU. The customer is responsible for the cost of getting the typewriter TO US for repairs.
