FROM THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF TOM HANKS
SIGNED 1957 VOSS DELUXE
I am offering up this VERY SPECIAL typewriter that I personally received as a gift from Tom Hanks for sale. A 1957 Burgundy Voss Deluxe that is signed by Mr. Hanks. This was part of his personal collection of typewriters.
For those wondering why I would part with this extremely unique item, I want to invest in a new project and have decided to sell this for "seed" money to get started. 😎
This is a 1957 Voss Deluxe in burgundy. It is beautiful and usable. It has a nice flow. (One note: the tab and margin release are not working correctly.)
The typing performance is very smooth and enjoyable. I have created a demo video so you can see the typewriter in action (the video link can be found within the images on this listing).
Tom Hanks' signature is prominently featured on the left side of the cover. I will be including the letter, which is framed, that accompanied the typewriter, confirming that this typewriter is from his personal collection.
In addition to the letter, I am including the following:
- A Play Tone towel that was sent with the typewriter. (Play Tone is Mr. Hanks' production company)
- Special Edition booklet written by Tom Hanks titled, THESE ARE THE MEDITATIONS OF MY HEART. I acquired this booklet through Thornwillow Press as a member of their monthly book program. This was a limited edition booklet and the version I'm including sold for $65.
- 1 copy of PAOLA LANE MAGAZINE featuring an article I wrote about the Tom Hanks Typewriters gifted to various typewriter shops. It includes the story of how I received this particular '57 Voss.

Also, we'll include an extra ribbon for the typewriter and a non-slip typewriter pad.
- This typewriter does not have a case.
The typewriter is being sold AS IS. Shipping is included in the price. We will double-box the typewriter to make sure it arrives safely.
There will be shipping insurance on the typewriter, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage during shipping. Filing claims and follow-up will be the responsibility of the buyer (though we will certainly help get the process started, if needed). And we are not responsible for the results of any insurance claims decisions.
